In the latest round of Islam versus the West, the West has once again decided to play the good dhimmi and submit.  We don't quite know the details of Britain's deal with Iran, but we can be sure that the devil is in them.  As I stated earlier, Britain would never have stood for this in the past, but times are a-changing.  I'm sure Britain will make some form of apology and pay some amount of jizyah, so that Ahmedinejad can so his 'magnamity' on his prophet's birthday. 

Sadly, this is sign of things to come.  During the Klinton Era, America inexplicably decided to side with Muslim terrorists over a nominally Christian Serbia.  We are seeing the fruits of that blunder today, as Sunni jihadists are strengthening in the Kosovo region of Serbia and Europe's soft underbelly is growing a considerable cancer.  Anti-Americanism is apparently rapant now in southern Serbia.  Now, it is reported, we are siding with Sunni jihadists against Iran.  While this can be an effective strategy of playing one enemy off of the other, it works only as long as it's maintained.  We failed to maintain it in Afghanistan and ended up with the Taliban, which was really just an offshoot of the mujahideen we supported against the Soviet Union.

The West can't seem to describe the enemy (hint: it's Islam), and as a result, may disappear in a generation.  The population of Muslims is surging in Britain, France, Sweden, Germany, and Spain.  The Muslims have a foothold, are reproducing faster than the Europeans, and hold strictly to the Qur'an and Sunnah.  How much longer can the West last? 

It's not that America is safe either.  Far from it.  We have a creeping sharia here as well, and no will to defend against it.  America may be the last to fall, but if things stay the same, she will.  A great light will go out throughout the world, but this is the sad result of the curse.  Man is prone to ruin any blessing God has given him.  It's unclear what will emerge, but Mark Steyn predicts a possible new Dark Ages. 

It sounds rather bleak, but fortunately, God is sovereign over even this.  My own eschatological view predicts an increasing evil on the face of the Earth before the return of Christ.  Of course, the Bible never gives a measure of how evil is evil enough, only "as in the days of Noah," and "as a woman in birth pains."  We can expect ever shortening periods of calm and ever increasing periods of turmoil until the Parousia.  Let us be watchful for His coming.
