Islam = Arab supremacy
"I summon my blue-eyed slaves anytime it pleases me. I command the Americans to send me their bravest soldiers to die for me. Anytime I clap my hands a stupid genie called the American ambassador appears to do my bidding. When the Americans die in my service their bodies are frozen in metal boxes by the US Embassy and American airplanes carry them away, as if they never existed. Truly, America is my favorite slave."
King Fahd Bin Abdul-Aziz, Jeddeh 1993
I don't think Arabs see any difference between Islam and Arab culture. Non-Arab Muslims can cling parasitically to Islam, but they will be perpetually viewed as outsiders by Arabs.

And President Bush, over in the middle east walking hand-in-hand with the Arab Kings, (looking like a patsy on the end of a leash) isn't helping us.
PR, the world has about an 8 week supply of corn. Food stocks have fallen to their lowest levels in decades but with a much larger world population. Who do you think will do without, us or the arabs should it come to not having enough food? Will we say to the Saudi's 'You eat your oil.' or 'We'll trade you a bushel of corn/wheat for 10 barrels of your oil?' Will we let Americans starve so non-producing countries can eat?
King Abdul-Aziz is dead. President Bush is in thrall to King Abdullah. Not that it makes much difference.
Interesting. Where'd you see that?
PR,
I panicked when you asked since I had read this about a month ago. Biofuel (a miserable joke), increased population, drought, flood, and cold have shrunk the supply. Corn is being planted in place of other crops in order to cash in on ethanol. Earl Butz (spelling) Sec of Agriculture under Nixon and a devote Mormon had stored up one years' food (Mormon doctrine) for every American. I tho't it was a good idea.

The corn that is being diverted to fuel is not corn that could be used to feed people. It is feed corn, corn that would be used to feed livestock. This does mean fewer livestock are being feed, but it does not mean less corn on your table (or anyone else's table). You wouldn't want to try to eat this stuff; it is tough as a boot!
Land used to plant cow-corn is land that doesn't raise people-corn and the effect is the same - less for people to eat. Whether that less-to-eat is corn or the more expensive meats, the problem is less food/more expensive food for us all. Land that grew soybeans but now grows cow-corn means less and higher priced soybeans. Same for cotton, wheat etc etc. Ethanol is a net energy waste. It may make sense in some emergency environment but not when our only problem is a lack of political-will to have energy.
If fewer cows are being fed with feed corn, then the price of beef goes up, ergo, the price of food goes up.
Biodiesel should only come from recycled cooking oil, if we're to keep food prices the same. It would therefore only be a niche fuel source. Ethanol is a scam.
