two heuristics to live by

1. If you don't have clear and convincing evidence that doing something is better than doing nothing, do nothing. 2. If you know that doing nothing is bad, but don't have clear and convincing evidence that one action is better than another, do the simplest, standard thing.
My view is that many problems, if sat on long enough, will take care of themselves. I think I'll just sit on my pile of housing down payment money until it's clear that buying a house will benefit me. I might be sitting on it awhile given the climate of buying and government idiocy.
