Women in the Third World

This fascinating article examines the differences between men and women in the third world with respect to their work load and work ethic.  I'll let you draw your own conclusions, but it seems that a good percentage of the men in the third world are nothing more than dead weight - millstones around the woman's neck.  This is especially true in Arab countries, of course, but also apparent in Latin America and Africa.  Perhaps the reason American men prefer third-world women is that they are comfortable lifting a finger.  Perhaps the reason the reverse is also true is that American men see the value of helping out and providing for the family.  Dr. Laura Schlessinger, in her groundbreaking book The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, notes that American men tend to help out more and work harder for their women than they are often given credit for.  I have also heard women from other countries confirm this, though as Dr. Laura's book demonstrates, many American women do not appreciate what they have.  The final take-away is that societies only function when men and women live up to their common-grace roles.
